With Amazon Prime Day just around the corner next week, there's a great way to save on your purchases by using Amex points … and now American Express has added a new targeted Amex Offer to help you earn even more points on your Amazon shopping, too.
With this new Amazon Amex Offer, you can earn 5 x Membership Rewards points per dollar spent on all Amazon purchases. Combined with the standard 1x points you'd normally earn on an Amex card, that means you're earning 6x points by shopping through Amazon. It's capped at earning 1,000 bonus points, which covers up to $200 of Amazon purchases.
This offer is targeted, so not every single Amex cardholder will have it. Luckily, it seems to be pretty widely available on cards that earn Amex Membership Rewards points like *amex platinum* and the *amex gold* . Unfortunately, that means a Delta American Express card, for example, won’t cut it.
Log into your Amex account now to see if you're eligible and add it to your card – there's no harm in adding the offer to your card now and racking up whatever bonus points you can on Amazon purchases. This offer expires on Aug. 21, 2023, but we often see American Express pull offers early … especially popular ones like these. If you have it available, you'll want to add it to your card ASAP!
Where to Find Amex Offers
If you haven’t used Amex Offers before, simply log into your American Express account and scroll down near the bottom of the screen and there should be a box called Amex Offers & Benefits (this is available through the Amex mobile app as well). If you see an offer you like, simply add the offer to the card and make a qualifying purchase at that business with your card.
You should receive a statement credit, or in this case, bonus points, for the offer within a few days of making a purchase.
