But on the name of the second passenger, your first name might be changed to “EXST.” The gender and birth date should match your own.
Your extra seat should be connected to your main ticket. This means that if Delta did something unusual like change your flight, your extra seat should “follow” you to your new trip.
For some airlines, the second boarding pass is printed out and scanned during the boarding process, so if you’re going with Delta, you might need to print out and scan that second boarding pass.
The reason is that if you don’t scan the second boarding pass, it could be counted as a “no-show,” which could mean that an extra passenger is put in your place, which could cause problems.
You might want to check, but Delta’s method might not work that way.
If you want to buy the extra seat with SkyMiles, you should be able to do so as long as there are open tickets.
