Snow Tubing at Sasquatch Mountain Resort
While this family friendly ski resort is known for its downhill skiing and snowboarding, Sasquatch Mountain Resort is also home to one of the largest snow tubing parks in the Lower Mainland.
We spent a lot of time at Sasquatch Mountain last winter. Our boys went skiing more times last season that the previous 3 seasons combined.
We enjoy visiting the Sasquatch Mountain tubing park in-between skiing sessions. Tubing is a popular winter activity at Sasquatch Mountain Resort and passes are a hot commodity, especially on the weekends.

Connor might actually like tubing more than skiing!
Snow Tubing is one of Connor’s favourite winter activities and he has been eager to have the tube park re-open this season. When on the green chair you can see the Sasquatch Mountain tubing park so he often asks, “when are we going tubing again?”
Last season Connor (age 8) started to go down the runs all by himself. Previously, he liked to go down the tube lanes while hanging on to my tube.

Tube Park at Sasquatch Mountain has a magic carpet
Tubing at Sasquatch Mountain Resort doesn’t require you to walk up the hill like you would with traditional sledding. Instead, an easy magic carpet takes you up to the tubing lanes (see above photo).
Tubing is a great winter activity because you don’t need special training or skills to enjoy it. You also don’t need to bring or rent equipment, like you would with skiing, snowboarding or snow shoeing. The inflatable tubes are provided with your tubing pass.
Very young children need to be accompanied by an adult when tubing. That means you are likely going tubing, too. Keep that in mind when planning your visit to the Sasquatch tube park.

Snow tubes are available for guests to use. No need to bring equipment.
The Sasquatch Mountain Resort tube park has 8 lanes to slide down. Each lane is slightly different. Some are faster than others. Our boys tried them all and prefer the first two lanes. I think that’s because those two lanes get the most usage, which packs the snow and makes a slippery surface.

Each tubing session is 2 hours. It’s the perfect amount of time for young kids. Tubing is open on Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday for most of the day, so you can pick a time that works for your family.
You don’t need special gear, but dress for the weather.
When we go snow tubing we always wear snow pants, warm winter coats, helmet, googles, winter boots and gloves. You don’t have to wear a helmet, but it’s recommended.
If it’s snowing outside, you’ll want to wear googles to protect your eyes. Sun glasses will work but they might fall off your face, so it’s best to bring proper snow goggles.

Tips for tubing at Sasquatch Mountain Resort
You need to plan ahead and book your time online . Don’t just show up and expect to go tubing when you arrive. Time slots are 2 hour blocks. We like to go from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. At this time it is still light outside to start, but it gets dark shortly afterwards.
There are height restrictions. Children under 1.07 meters (42 inches) in height must be accompanied in the tubing park at all times by a parent or legal guardian.
Tubers must be in their own tube. This applies to children, too. You can go down the hill at the same time and hold onto each other’s tubes. There’s a max of 3 tubes at a time while on the same lane.
You are not allowed to wear ski boots when tubing. If you plan to go tubing after skiing, make sure that you bring shoes or boots to wear.
Helmets are not mandatory but we prefer to wear our ski helmets. You can also wear bike helmets if you don’t have a winter helmet.
