If you are looking for cute Christmas towns in Massachusetts, look no further than Rockport. I thought this waterfront enclave on Cape Ann was a stunner in the summer, but wait until you see the darling little shops decorated for Christmas.

Christmas in Rockport is a vibe, with a full month of holiday activities in December. Santa arrives by lobster boat at T-Wharf on Saturday, December 2, 2023, followed by the Dock Square Tree Lighting ceremony.  A Menorah Lighting will then be held on December 7th, the first day of Chanukah.

The Annual Holiday Shopping Night in Rockport is Friday, December 8 and you can get your passport stamped at various businesses for a chance to win prizes. On Saturday, December 9th, strolling musicians and carolers will entertain you while you shop.

The Christmas Pageant, with a live nativity re-enactment, takes place on Saturday, December 16 and procrastinators can find deals during “Last Minute Stocking Stuffer Weekend”. The month-long celebration reaches its peak on New Year’s Eve with a full night of entertainment from 4:00 pm until the ball drops at midnight.

Things to do Nearby : Take a day trip to Newburyport or Gloucester and enjoy Cape Ann’s Annual Winter Lights, where over 100 local businesses throughout Gloucester, Essex, Ipswich, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Rockport are getting into the festive spirit by decorating their storefronts with twinkling lights and creative window displays.
