Good luck to everyone taking part in the main event + the junior and mini runners too.  Rapunzel by BalletLORENT at Northern Stage  A fresh and family friendly version of Rapunzel by former Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy and brought to you by BalletLORENT will be showing at Northern Stage from 29 September - 2 October. Recommended for ages 5+, this must-see production is packed with world-class collaborators including award-winning composer Murray Gold (Doctor Who & It's A Sin) and award-winning costume designer Michele Clapton (Game of Thrones & The Crown). Narrated by leading British actor Lesley Sharp with the score performend by Royal Northern Sinfonia. It sounds like a real treat! Find out more and buy tickets here.  If you're a family with older teens, Rapunzel After Dark is also worth a look (ages 16+).  The Tiger Who Came to Tea at Theare Royal  The Tiger Who Came To Tea returns to Newcastle Theatre Royal between 28 September and 2 October. Tickets are available to see this delightful family show (direct from the West End) from just £14.50. Nobody expects a tea guzzling tiger to turn up at their door!But this is exactly what happens to Sophie and her mummy in this stage adaptation of the classic tale of teatime mayhem.  Find out more and book here.  Heritage Open Days  Heritage Open Days take place between 9-18 September. They're an opportunity to get behind the scenes or visit a local historical/cultural venue completely free of charge. Find out what's on here. Lindisfarne Gospels  The Lindisfarne Gospels will return to the North East this month and are available to view as part of a special exhibition at Laing Art Gallery from 17 September - 3 December. Find out more here.  Toddler Takeover at Discovery Museum & Pre-School Days at Life Science Centre Return  There are two fab events taking place for pre-schoolers this month. The first is Tiny Sparks Toddler Takeover on Wed 14 September. Suitable for ages 3-5 years, tickets are just £2.75 + bf and include access to building and construction areas, dressing up, train themed craft, sorting and counting activities, the chance to handle museum objects and more. Younger siblings and adults go free.
