Last week, I had the pleasure of heading to St. Lucia with the hubby for a few days to relax, reconnect, and of course tour some resorts. We stayed at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian and as a certified Sandals specialist I was invited to also come and tour Sandals Regency La Toc and Sandals Halcyon Beach. This was a great way to get to experience all three Sandals resorts in St. Lucia and I’m so excited to be able to help you choose the best St. Lucia Sandals Resort in for you.

 
Comparing all Three Sandals St. Lucia Resorts

The three Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia were the 8 th , 9 th , and 10 th Sandals resorts I have visited. Besides three resorts in St. Lucia, Sandals has one in Antigua , one in Grenada , two in Barbados , two in the Bahamas, one in Curacao and seven in Jamaica. And pretty soon, Sandals will open in their next destination, St. Vincent.
What’s cool about the Sandals resorts in St Lucia is you can stay at one, play at three (so it’s not just me who got to experience more than one property!). Which means no matter where you stay, guests have full access to all three Sandals St. Lucia resorts. And they provide transportation between the resorts.
All of your Sandals St. Lucia resorts offer the same great luxury included, adults only, resort experience, along with SCUBA for certified divers and golf included. But each property is unique, and here are some of the highlights of each one.

Things to Consider When Booking Sandals Regency La Toc:

This resort has two sections, the lower and the bluffs. It’s a steep walk up to the bluffs, or you can take a golf cart.
The beach here is small and can be rough
Watersports leave from the marina, which is a short boat ride away.

Things to Consider when Booking Sandals Halcyon Beach:

The beach here is very small and can be rough.
This is a small, intimate resort in lush garden surroundings.
No elevators, so book a walkout if you can’t do stairs


How To Get to the Three Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia
St.  Lucia is a volcanic island, with the international airport in the far south, and the main resort area in the north. The ride to and from the north takes you through the mountains on some windy roads!
Because our flight home was cancelled and we had to stay an extra night, I got to do that ride to/from Rodney Bay three times – which I do NOT recommend. It was bad, but do-able, and in some ways is like an included island tour although there are alternatives to a shared shuttle:
You can book a private transfer . Sandals includes the airport shuttle (it was a shared van with about 10 people) OR if you are more comfortable, you can pay for a private transfer.
Take the helicopter ride . This is what we did on arrival. I can assist my Sandals guests with this. It was super easy and very fun. The helicopter takes you to the domestic airport, which is then about 20 minutes from Sandals Grande Lucian, and less to Sandals La Toc or Sandals Halcyon.

Take the ferry . This does not save you much time, but it takes you via water verses land. This also seems like a fun way to see the island from the water and snacks and drinks are included.
Fly Domestic . Depending on where you are coming from, you could connect in the Caribbean and fly into the domestic airport, which is at most 20 minutes away from the furthest Sandals St Lucia resort. This is also a great option if you are Sandals Island hopping from Grenada or St Vincent.
 
There are really no bad Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia. Die-hard fans of the brand will want to stay at all three, although everyone has their favorites! I loved my stay at the Grande. I would love to go back and stay at La Toc, especially up on the bluff. Plus the ride to La Toc is a little shorter.
