The writer was hosted.

With its rich musical heritage and welcoming Southern hospitality, Nashville Tennessee is an ideal spot for a weekend city getaway. Whether you’re looking for a fun girl’s trip, a family trip, or just a solo adventure, Music City has much to offer for everyone. On a recent visit, I had the pleasure of getting to know the city a little, while staying at the Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville.

A short 10-minute ride from Nashville International Airport, Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville is right in the middle of the lively city of Nashville, offering a mix of modern luxury and southern friendliness. Located at 210 Molloy St, this property is a shining example of how Hyatt is committed to making your stay special.  With its central location, excellent service, and various amenities for all kinds of travelers, I know exactly where I’ll be calling home the next time I’m in town.

Arrival

Upon my arrival at Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville, the check-in process was smooth and efficient. The front desk staff welcomed me with warm smiles and friendly greetings. As they were checking me in, I took my first glance at the lobby area. You’ll be quick to spot the contemporary charm, with stylish decor reflecting the city’s dynamic energy. Valet parking is available for all guests.

Location

One standout feature of this Nashville hotel is its great location. Situated in the city center, Hyatt Centric is just minutes away from the iconic Broadway, where the pulse of Nashville’s live music scene can be felt.

The hotel’s proximity to popular attractions like the Bridgestone Arena, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum , Ryman Auditorium, and the Johnny Cash Museum makes it an ideal choice for music enthusiasts and tourists alike. My personal favorite highlights included a tour of the Ryman and the historic RCA Studio B – home to the recording studio of the King himself – Elvis Presley.

The convenience of walking to these attractions was a significant plus, allowing me to immerse myself in the city’s many attractions with little to no need for transportation. The hotel’s location is also within walking distance of the vibrant SoBro (South of Broadway) district, known for its trendy restaurants, bars, and array of entertainment.

Hotel Offerings

Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville offers something for everyone. Leisurely guests can take note of the swimming pool on the 9th floor (more on that below), while business guests will surely make use of the several meeting rooms. No matter the reason for your stay, Hyatt Centric’s friendly staff will be more than happy to assist you in accommodating your needs.

Accommodations

The guestrooms at Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville have an array of categories to choose from, such as a standard king bedroom, two queen beds, as well as higher-tier options such as the King Suite, Premium King Suite, and Presidential Suite.

My king bed with a city view was the perfect space to unwind after a day of city exploration. The contemporary design and thoughtful amenities created a welcoming atmosphere each time I entered, while the high floor offered a stunning city view, allowing me to take in the sights of the streets from a bird’s eye view.

The hotel room provided all the modern comforts I needed, such as free wifi, a hair dryer, and toiletries. The careful attention to the room’s design and amenities showed their dedication to giving guests a top-notch experience.

Rooftop Pool

After a busy day exploring iconic sights, I headed back to the hotel and cooled down from the sizzling Nashville heat with a dip in their outdoor pool. Located on the 9th floor, this rooftop pool area is also home to their pool bar and restaurant, Lala’s. A refreshing salad and cool cocktail later, it was easy for me to melt the hours away until sundown. A fun fact about this rooftop pool is that it’s now open to outside guests with a day pass!

In addition to access to the pool, this pass includes lounge chairs on a first-come, first-serve basis, towel service, complimentary wifi, and full service at Lala’s. This floor also provides access to the hotel’s fitness center.

Dining

While the city itself provides visitors with no shortage of culinary options, the hotel offers impeccable dining service at Ella’s.

Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the signature restaurant of the hotel provides guests with an array of options to choose from. Each dish is carefully crafted with an American flare with a Southern twist to it. The New York Strip alone is worthy of another visit. With its triple herb butter and cipollini onions, I can safely say dinner at Ella’s had me satiated for the rest of the evening. For those looking for some late-night bites, room service is available to cater to your needs.

Nightlife

After dinner, head back out to the city and enjoy one of the many lively bars on Broadway. From local bands covering Johnny Cash to Bon Jovi, you’ll surely find something that’ll get your rhythm going throughout the night. My personal favorite stop of the evening was the iconic Tootsies  – a three-story bar filled with lively music and a lot of fun!
