Hilton Hotels and Resorts and Small Luxury Hotels of the World announced a new partnership on Wednesday.
The alliance will give members of the Hilton Honors guest loyalty program access to hundreds of independent luxury properties across the globe and add these properties to the Hilton Honors family as well, which already includes Waldorf Astoria and Conrad hotels, among others.
Calling it a “game changer” for independently owned hotels, Small Luxury Hotels’ CEO Shaun Leleu noted that the partnership gives Hilton Honors members access to the group’s “collection of exceptional boutique hotels, while our properties enjoy amplified reach to a loyal and discerning audience.”
As the partnership takes shape, members of Hilton Honors will be able to book and earn points at participating properties in the Small Luxury Hotels. They will also be able to use Hilton Honors points to pay for stays at properties within the program.
Small Luxury Hotels of the World has 560 properties in 90 countries on its roster. Hilton operates 20 brands including Canopy, Curio, Conrad, LXR, Signia, and the eponymous Hilton brand and has over 584 properties in 94 countries.
Hyatt Hotels announced a similar but now defunct partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World in August 2018.
