Apple announced it has released support for cycling navigation in Sweden and Switzerland, with immediate effect.
The Cupertino-based technology giant released support for cycling navigation in Germany in February 22 and the feature is also available in multiple cities and countries including Australia; Barcelona, Spain; China; France; Japan; London, England; Montréal, Toronto, and Vancouver Canada; and the United States.
The new feature allows bicycle riders to receive turn-by-turn directions while riding their bikes throughout the city or country.
It supports bike lanes, bike paths, and bike-friendly roads as much as possible and includes details such as elevation, how busy a particular street is, and whether there are stairs along a route.
When used on the Apple Watch, features such as voice guidance and haptic feedback make it easier for the rider to stay focused on the path ahead.
In addition to the turn-by-turn directions, Apple is now offering its “Detailed City Experience” for more locations. They were originally available for only four locations: London, Los Angeles, New York City, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Detailed City Experience offers more detailed road markings and additional custom-designed three-dimensional models of landmarks.
Cities where this feature is available include Atlanta, Berlin, Boston, Chicago, Hamburg, Las Vegas, London, Melbourne,  Miami, Montréal, Munich, New York, Paris, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle Sydney, Toronto, Vancouver, and Washington, D.C., among others.
Apple Maps cycling directions are already available in the United States, China, and Japan, as well as in a limited number of cities across the globe including Barcelona, London, and Toronto.
