Hilton Worldwide announced a partnership with outdoor lodging company AutoCamp.
The move marks the first time a major hotel chain and an outdoor lodging brand have joined forces in this manner, Hilton said.
AutoCamp is a hotelier that rents Airstream trailers to guests so they can glamp in the great outdoors near locations such as national parks. Glamping is a form of camping involving accommodation and facilities that are more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping.
The company has six locations the vicinity of major national parks and other popular outdoor destinations in California, Massachusetts, New York, and Utah.
“We know today’s travelers are craving adventures when planning their next trip,” said Chris Silcock, the head of Hilton’s global brands and commercials services unit.
AutoCamp works in partnership with Airstream, a storied manufacturer of travel trailers or, in British English, caravans. An Airstream is easily recognizable due to its distinction rounded and polished aluminum coachwork and has a body style that dates back to the 1930s.
Stays with AutoCamp will soon be bookable on Hilton’s website and app and members of Hilton’s guest loyalty program, Hilton Honors, will be able to earn and redeem points and receive other member benefits.
