United Airlines announced the appointment of Michelle Freyre to the company’s board of directors with immediate effect.

Freyre is president of global brands at the Estée Lauder Companies. She joined Lauder in 2020 after 19 years at Johnson & Johnson, where she was president of the U.S. Beauty group. She attended Yale University, graduating in 1992 with a B.A. in Economics and later attended Harvard Business School, obtaining an MBA in general management.

“Michelle’s extensive experience in business and product strategy will make her an excellent addition to our already strong Board of Directors,” said United CEO Scott Kirby. “In each of her previous roles, Michelle has deftly balanced modernizing and celebrating the historic brands she has overseen.”
In addition to the addition of Freyre, United earlier added Rosalind Brewer, the former CEO of the Walgreens Boots Alliance, to the board.
Two current members of the board, James Kennedy and Carolyn Corvi, have announced that they will not stand for reelection this year.
