Cheers: Half-Off Premium Drinks at Select Delta Sky Clubs This Spring!

While it might seem silly, redeeming SkyMiles to buy a bottle of champagne or a premium cocktail inside Delta Sky Clubs is genuinely one of the best ways to use Delta miles . And at a few Sky Clubs this spring, a pre-flight drink (or two) is getting even cheaper.
Delta is currently offering 50% off premium drinks at two Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) Sky Clubs as well as the newly expanded Miami (MIA) lounge –  whether you fork over Sky Miles or pay cash. A Delta spokesperson confirmed this buzzy promotion will run all the way through May 31.
At 50% off, that's a  steal to get a nice bottle of bubbles or a fancy cocktail. Get this: It means you can purchase a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rosé for just 4,000 SkyMiles (or $60). Fancy cocktails (and mocktails) drop as low as 250 SkyMiles apiece and even a glass of top-shelf Johnny Walker Blue Label is just 1,100 SkyMiles.
Check out Delta's full drink menu and see for yourself. In Minneapolis and Miami this spring, you can cut all those prices in half.

Delta's premium champagne selection is quite nice – and 50% cheaper in Minneapolis and Miami

It's the first promotion of its kind inside Delta Sky Clubs … or the first we've heard of it, anyway. And it's a fun one.
It's unclear whether this is a one-and-done or if Delta plans to continue this kind of half-off drink promotion at other Sky Clubs in the future. An airline spokesperson didn't address that question, saying only that it's meant to celebrate the “arrival of warmer springtime temperatures” in Minnesota and the reopening of the Miami Sky Club, which was recently expanded by 4,000 square feet.
Redeeming SkyMiles for champagne and other premium drinks was already a solid deal. After a devaluation a few years back , every SkyMile gets you 1.5 cents toward a premium beverage – more value than you'll typically get these days when using miles booking flights or upgrading to Delta Comfort Plus or first class.

With this 50% off special, using just a few thousand SkyMiles (or less) for a nice drink is a no-brainer. What a fun and cheap way to kick off a spring getaway departing from Minneapolis or Miami, right?
Travelers should have no problem taking advantage of this promotion: Just walk up to the bar, order the premium beverage of your choice, and pay half-price. Let a bartender know if you plan to redeem SkyMiles – they'll typically either scan your boarding pass or ask for your SkyMiles number. Oh, and don't forget to tip!
Minneapolis is now home to three Delta Sky Clubs, including the fantastic new lounge down the airport's G terminal. That lounge has not one but two bars, including an awesome outdoor space where you can grab a drink and relax.

That brand-new lounge has premium drinks for sale at half-off prices, as does the other big Sky Club in the main concourse mall. Delta's third Minneapolis Sky Club located near gate C12 – a relic from the old Northwest Airlines days – does not have a premium bar.
The Miami Sky Club is located in the South Terminal, just to the left of the airport's H Concourse security checkpoint. Delta's recent push to build brand-new lounges and expand existing locations recently hit southern Florida with a facelift and more an addition that will allow 100 more travelers inside.
Bottom Line
It's not just news you can use … it's news you can booze.
Through May 31, Delta flyers can get 50% off champagne and other premium drinks at Sky Clubs in Minneapolis and Miami. And yes, that includes a half-off discount when you redeem SkyMiles, making that pre-flight drink even cheaper.
