Four Seasons Preferred Partner: What It Is, Why You Should Use It, & FAQs

Luxury travel is synonymous with exclusivity, personalized service, and unforgettable experiences. For discerning travelers seeking the pinnacle of hospitality, the Four Seasons Preferred Partner Program stands out as a beacon of exceptional service. I promise you it’s the best way to book a Four Seasons hotel or resort anywhere in the world.

I’m a travel advisor, an American Express Platinum cardholder, a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder, a Founderscard member, and someone who has access to a lot of VIP or discounted stays. I use the Four Seasons Preferred Partner program to book my own stays for various reasons. The main reason is that the benefits are legitimately valuable.

What Is Four Seasons Preferred Partner?

The Four Seasons Preferred Partner Program is invitation-only. Invitations are granted only to top-tier luxury travel agencies and their travel advisors. This exclusive program gives travelers access to a world where VIP treatment is the norm.

My affiliation with Cadence in La Jolla allows me to use this program to book clients and readers into Four Seasons properties worldwide. (And, by the way, pretty much every major luxury hotel brand has something similar.)

What Benefits Are Included?

While amenities vary across different Four Seasons properties, the most common set of perks looks like this (some hotels specify the breakfast restaurant or breakfast credit dollar amount):

Daily full breakfast for two people per bedroom, served in a hotel restaurant or through In-Room Dining

Hotel/Resort Credit* (based on room category booked): • Guest Rooms: USD 100 credit per stay • Suites and Specialty Suites: USD 200 credit per stay • Private Retreats: USD 200 credit per bedroom per stay

Upgrade of one category, based on availability at time of check-in**

Welcome note at check-in acknowledging you and your travel agency and the benefits that are being extended

*Hotel/Resort Credit may be applied to select incidental charges incurred at the Hotel or Resort. Must be used in conjunction with the initial stay and will be applied at check-out. May not be applied towards the room rate, taxes, resort fees, service charges, conference fees, or any charges from outside vendors. Exclusions may apply; contact the Hotel/Resort for more details. When a suite is reserved in connection with another guest room or suite, the cumulative credit (based on room category booked) value applies. The Private Retreats credit applies to Villas and Residences with a minimum average rate per night (before Resort fees and taxes) of USD 1,000. **Category upgrade based on availability at time of check-in excludes Specialty Suites, Villas and the Private Retreats collection of Villas and Residences.
You are also treated as a VIP and receive priority when upgrades and late check-out are available. Preferred Partner requests are prioritized ABOVE Fine Hotels and Resorts, Virtuoso, or any other VIP program.
The discerning traveler awaits a tapestry of unique experiences within the illustrious Four Seasons network. From Bali’s breathtaking landscapes to Paris’s cosmopolitan charm, each property offers a distinct ambiance and a wealth of activities to suit every taste. Whether seeking a tranquil retreat or a vibrant urban escape, the Four Seasons network boasts a diverse portfolio of properties that cater to every desire and whim.

What It’s Like Being One of These Advisors

I know what it’s like to be a Four Seasons Preferred Partner client, and so do some of you reading this. I’d like to share just a little about what it’s like being on the advisor side so you can understand why I love this program so much.

When you book through me as a Four Seasons Preferred Partner client, we send your names and stay details to the designated Preferred Partner contacts at the resort. They work behind the scenes to ensure you are VIP’d and meet your requests. They also plan to recognize anything we mention you’re celebrating.

Long story short, I don’t worry you won’t be taken care of. They reply to our emails promptly. And I now know many people personally on the other end of the phone in these hotels. You can use the chat function in the app to talk to the hotel on your own, too.

I love to work with other brands, but Four Seasons is my favorite for consistent service on the front and back end. I very rarely have to troubleshoot anything for clients, and if I do, it just gets handled.

The price of your room or suite, is the SAME as the “Room Rate” option you see on FourSeasons.com as well as some other non-breakfast promotional rates like Advanced Purchase or Extra Nightly Resort Credit.

Why is this better than American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts? Four Seasons Preferred Partner is Four Seasons’ VIP program. Naturally, Preferred Partner guest requests are in higher priority than American Express, Virtuoso, and other VIP program guests. This is important when it comes to room upgrades and room location.

Does Four Seasons have a frequent stay program? Four Seasons doesn’t have a frequent stay program where guests can earn points. You’ll have a guest profile once you stay at a Four Seasons. And they do make detailed notes on it, which helps ensure your future stays are equally amazing.

Will the hotel know about my benefits? Do I need to tell them? When we book someone in using Four Seasons Preferred Partner, the benefits automatically attach to the reservation. There is no need to remind the hotel. On top of this, we work with the hotel behind the scenes to confirm your reservation. We will ask you for your arrival details (the hotels prefer flight information), special occasions, names, and pass along any other special notes or requests.

What if I already have a Four Seasons reservation? With your permission, we can usually add Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits to existing reservations that were made on FourSeasons.com or through the hotel or resort directly by phone.
If you made a reservation through a third party, you would need to cancel and rebook to get the benefits.
