Park City Lodging: Luxury, Comfort, Adventure – All Within Reach

Individually, Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley are two of the biggest ski resorts in America. Together, they create a ski utopia with hundreds of runs, delicious restaurants, and the old mining town charm of historic downtown Park City.
There is plenty to do when visiting this epic mountain destination and even more places to stay. This Park City Lodging guide covers the best mountainside ski-in ski-out accommodations on Park City Mountain and Deer Valley. It also includes the best lodging in Downtown Park City and some budget hotels off the mountain that are still quite nice and have good ski access. We’ve even included a Park City Hotel map with direct links to make booking a breeze.










Deer Valley Ski In / Ski Out Lodging
Deer Valley Ski Resort sits at the top of the canyon and is as far as you can drive in the winter. Even still, it’s only 45 minutes from the Salt Lake Airport (without traffic). It’s an upscale resort known for the Deer Valley Difference , which includes industry-leading grooming and luxury accommodations.
Deer Valley Resorts is the largest property manager at Deer Valley, with over  400 unique room options , ranging from condo-style accommodations to expansive residences with 4+ bedrooms. In addition, booking through Deer Valley gives you access to their on-demand car service and the ability to form ski-and-stay packages. Remember to get your lift tickets early because booked accommodations  does not  guarantee availability.
In general, you have three areas to choose from. The Snow Park area is at the mountain’s base and has the best access to Downtown Park City. Silver Lake is mid-mountain, with many culinary offerings and a terrific apres-ski at Ski Beach/ The Sticky Wicket. Empire Canyon is the highest area, with luxury accommodations and the best access to first-chair powder as the rest of the skiers work their way up to the highest lifts.

The Lodges at Deer Valley
There are three day-use lodges at Deer Valley: Snow Park, Silver Lake, and Empire Canyon, but this is an accommodation article, so we’re just mentioning them in passing since you can’t stay there. There are also many ski-in/ski-out chalets with “lodge” in their name, which you can book from the links in the previous section. This section covers The Lodges at Deer Valley, Silver Baron Lodge, and a handful of rental properties below Snow Park Lodge.
These properties don’t have ski-in/ski-out access, but it’s easy to get to the slopes on the skier shuttle to Snow Park or utilize the on-demand transportation to get higher on the mountain. The Lodges and Silver Baron also have covered parking and ski storage, but Deer Valley offers a complimentary ski check, so you don’t have to lug your skis up with you every day. They also have a buffet breakfast and large heated pools and hot tubs that are open all winter. Deer Valley really makes it easy to plan a car-free ski getaway.

Deer Valley Luxury Hotels
Deer Valley has three true luxury hotels: St Regis, Stein Eriksen , and Montage . These properties are exquisite from top to bottom, with all the amenities you’d expect from a five-star property, including in-house spas, large pools and hot tubs, and ski-in/ski-out access. Each property has a slightly different car/shuttle service since Deer Valley Resort does not manage them.
The St. Regis is a Marriott property with 181 guest rooms, six restaurants, and an iconic funicular from the hotel to the Snow Park Lodge. St. Regis sits directly behind the Deer Hollow Ski Run, which gives guests ski-in/ski-out access via Little Baldy Mountain to the Deer Valley Resort. The resort’s complimentary house cars run seven days a week within Park City limits.
The Stein Eriksen Lodge has 180 rooms and even more lodging options available at the nearby Stein Eriksen Residences. The World Ski Awards named the property the World’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel 2023. It has eight restaurants, including the distinctive Alpen Globes, Glitretind Restaurant, and Troll Hallen Lounge. There’s also a complimentary shuttle service to Park City. Its mid-mountain location gives ski-in/ski-out access to the Silver Lodge area. 
Montage is a 220-room luxury hotel with ski-in/ ski-out access to Empire Canyon. Five dining options range from their signature restaurant, Apex, to Slope Stream, which features fun and casual outdoor dining from an Airstream trailer. They have partnered with Cadillac to provide chauffeured rides, which are fabulous considering how hard it is to park in Park City. They also have a Ride and Drive experience where guests can borrow vehicles to explore Park City and the surrounding Wasatch Mountains.

Ski-in / Ski-Out Park City Hotels
This next section gets a little tricky with definitions because Park City Mountain Resort is the largest ski resort in America, with three separate and distinct base areas: Mountain Village, Canyon Village, and downtown Park City. We’ll cover each individually, starting with Mountain Village because that’s what most people traditionally think of when they hear Park City Mountain Resort. This was the main Park City base area before joining Canyons Resort in 2015.
There are two  ski-in/ ski-out Park City hotels in Mountains Village, Marriott Mountainside and the Lodge at Mountains Village . Both are nice three-star properties with pools, hot tubs, and convenient access to the restaurants at Mountain Village. They’re not quite as posh as Deer Valley, but then again, few things are. If you have a bunch of Marriott points, having an on-brand property at Park City is excellent. With enough points and an EPIC Pass, you could even ski free at Park City (or Deer Valley with the right IKON Pass).
Two other properties near Mountain Village are worth mentioning because they’re within easy walking distance: Chateau Après Lodge and Sweetwater Lift Lodge Resort . Staying here will free you from the hassle of parking or taking a shuttle bus to the congested base area. It’s also only a 1/2 mile walk up the hill to downtown, which is easier than finding a parking space for sure.

Hotels at Canyons Resort Park City
Vail Resorts invested heavily in Canyons Village Resort because they realized they were sitting on a gold mine. Unlike Mountain Village, there was enough room to grow without bumping into ski slopes or the historic downtown. As a result, Canyons Village has many more ski-in/ski-out options and more restaurants.

Downtown Park City Lodging
Our final ski-in / ski-out hotels in Park City are around the often-overlooked Town Lift base area. If you’re comfortable skiing blues, you can ski right into downtown Park City to the Town Lift base area. This stay is all about location, location, location, as you’re in the heart of the historic downtown next door to the world-class dining , shopping, and nightlife of the gorgeous little mountain town.
The Caledonian Park City   are condo residences  on Main Street, immediately adjacent to Town Lift Plaza.   Marriott’s Summit Watch is connected to Town Lift Plaza by a pedestrian bridge, making it another ski-in / ski-out property in downtown Park City. A third attractive Park City Hotel is the Treasure Mountain Inn , a historic inn dating back to 1963 and situated in the heart of downtown Park City. It’s perfect for people who prefer boutique charm to ski-in / ski-out access.

Park City Hotels
If you’re looking for more bang for your buck, consider staying at a Park City Hotel without ski-in / ski-out access. Don’t worry—most, if not all, of the major hotels have shuttles to Park City (Mountain Village Base Area) and Deer Valley (Snow Park Base Area) during the day and to downtown Park City at night. Also, they tend not to nickel and dime you with resort fees and parking.

Park City Peaks Hotel : More for less with On-site ski rentals and complimentary breakfast
Hotel Park City, Autograph Collection : Four-star property with Ruth’s Chris steakhouse on-site
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Park City – The Yarrow:  A four-star hotel without the on-mountain upcharge.  The resort fee gives a 20% discount on in-house ski rentals.
Sheraton Park City : Great value stay with Timbers Restaurant on-site

Kimball Junction Hotels
Staying in Kimball Junction makes for the most economical Park City ski trip  across the board . There’s abundant free parking at the hotels, local restaurants, and Canyon Village Base Area. Also, the area restaurants aren’t as pricey (or fancy) as  they are  in Park City proper or Deer Valley.
Also, since you’re just off I-80, you don’t have to worry as much about renting a 4×4 in case of snow as you would if you stayed higher up the mountain. Most hotels here will not have shuttle service to downtown Park City, but the free Main Street Express bus departs every 15-30 minutes from Kimball Junction Transit Center to Main Street Park City.

Wrapping This Park City Hotel Guide
The best place to stay in Park City depends on where you’re skiing and your level of luxury. If you’re paying day rates for Deer Valley, you’ll want luxury accommodations on the mountain. If you’re ski-bumming it with your IKON pass, consider staying off the mountain in Park City and utilizing the hotel shuttle to get you to Deer Valley. You could also drive up from Kimball Junction and take advantage of Deer Valley’s free parking.
If you’re skiing at Park City Mountain Resort , you’ll find hotels for every budget, from Ski Bum to Snow Princess. However, if you’re the sort who likes apres-ski and shopping as much as time on the slope, consider your access to Main Street Park City. It’s a gorgeous and charming town with a parking problem, but that said, it’s incredibly easy to go car-free with the wide variety of affordable and reliable transportation options.
