4 Underrated Chase Sapphire Preferred Benefits You Should Be Using

We've long considered the *chase sapphire preferred* one of the best credit card options out there for all travelers. Scoring a big bonus just makes that case even stronger.
Here is what's at stake with the current, limited-time bonus offer: bonus_miles_full
But look beyond the headlines and you'll find some equally valuable Chase Sapphire Preferred benefits that shouldn't be ignored. Some are permanent perks while others are temporary benefits (that could stick around for good.) Either way, there are reasons beyond the initial signup bonus to pick up and keep a Preferred card.
Let's break down some of the lesser-known Chase Sapphire Preferred benefits that you should know about to get the most out of this card. But you'll have to act fast as some are slated to end very soon.

Free Instacart+ Membership and $15 Quarterly Credit
Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders get a free Instacart+ membership for grocery delivery orders over $35 – and up to $15 of quarterly credits to use on the platform through July 2024.
That's right, just for holding the Sapphire Preferred, you'll automatically get an Instacart+ membership for free for six months.

Already have an Instacart+ membership? You can still enroll at the promotional link , enter your Sapphire account number, and get the next six months of membership covered with this benefit.
Simply enroll for Instacart+ at the promotional link through July 31, 2024 with your eligible Chase card. Just be sure to act fast as this promotion is ending soon!

Save $25 on HBO Max Subscriptions
Some Chase customers are also being targeted for an HBO offer, which gives Sapphire Preferred customers $25 off HBO Max purchases. You'll have to activate the offer by June 6 and spend at least $99 by Sep. 30 to get the $25 statement credit.

The easiest way to trigger the statement credit is by subscribing to the cheapest annual HBO Max plan, priced at $99. Getting $25 back from Chase makes for a pretty cheap way to score a year's worth of HBO Max and easily makes it among the most affordable streaming services out there.
If you're already an HBO customer or were already planning to sign up, it's a great way to save on an otherwise pricey subscription.

Complimentary DoorDash DashPass Membership
In addition to the 3x Ultimate Rewards points you'll earn on dining at restaurants and eligible delivery services like DoorDash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats, Sapphire Preferred cardholders also get a complimentary 12-month DashPass membership.

With DashPass, you'll save on delivery fees and enjoy additional savings on each order. Cardholders will be able to enroll in this perk for one year as long as the membership is activated before Dec. 31, 2024. If you've already got a Sapphire Preferred card you can enroll through your Chase portal or at this link .

Earn 5x Points on Lyft Rides
Through March 2025, you'll earn 5x points per dollar spent on Lyft rides when you pay with your Sapphire Preferred. It's perhaps the most lucrative way to earn points on the card right now if you expect to book many rideshares this year.

Just add your card to your Lyft app and use it to pay for your Lyft rides.

And while you've got nearly a year to take advantage of this partnership between Lyft and Chase, it has been extended in the past. There's no telling for certain whether that will happen again but we certainly wouldn't be surprised if this bonus-earning sticks around for even longer than the stated expiration date.

Bottom Line
Most of these Chase Sapphire Preferred benefits alone can help justify the card's $95 annual fee. Add them all together and it's not hard to see why we think the card provides so much value.
And considering new cardholders will earn 75,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first three months of card membership … well, that just sweetens the deal. A lot.
