Air Canada Introduces Complimentary Snacks, Beer, and Wine for Economy Passengers
Air Canada has introduced some enhancements to the economy experience for passengers on all flights through to the end of 2024.
Beginning June 5, 2024, passengers travelling in economy will enjoy complimentary premium snacks from its recently revamped offering.
The airline is showcasing Canadian producers with its updated snack menu, which includes buttery herb and garlic pretzels from Alberta-based and female-led TWIGZ, as well as the Célébration cookie from Quebec.

Furthermore, Air Canada will extend its complimentary beer and wine offering to economy passengers on domestic and transborder routes; however, beer, wine, and spirits will remain for purchase on economy flights to and from the Caribbean and Mexico.
Eligible Air Canada economy passengers can select from a variety of beer and wine offerings, including the recently introduced Hop Valley and Creemore Springs beers, as well as French sines from Paul Mas.

If you’d prefer a cocktail instead, you’ll enjoy a cost of $5 (CAD) for the following spirits: Baileys Original Irish Cream, Canadian Club rye, Bacardi Superior rum, Bombay Sapphire gin, Smirnoff vodka, Tromba Tequila Blanco, or Campari.

As with the complimentary premium snacks, the complimentary beer and wine on eligible routes will remain in effect through to the end of the year.

Air Canada Elevates Economy Experience through 2024
By introducing complimentary beer, wine, and premium snacks to economy passengers on domestic and transborder routes, Air Canada is elevating part of its passenger experience, which happens to closely resemble that of Porter Airlines.
Recall that Porter Airlines has long served complimentary beer and wine in glassware, and offers passengers in-flight snacks on every one of its all-economy flights.
With Porter’s ongoing expansion across North America as it continues to expand its fleet of Embraer E195-E2 jets, it has positioned itself as offering an elevated economy flying experience compared to other Canadian and North American carriers.
While Air Canada can’t offer the guarantee of no middle seats on all of its flights, it’s now matching part of what has made Porter Airlines unique by providing passengers in economy with complimentary beer, wine, and premium snacks on domestic and transborder routes, including Hawaii and Alaska.
Air Canada is now offering complimentary beer, wine, and premium snacks to passengers in economy through to the end of 2024
Air Canada has been adding to its in-flight food, beverage, and entertainment offerings in the recent past, and it’s nice to see the experience being enhanced for passengers in economy, too.
Conclusion
Air Canada has announced that passengers in economy on domestic and transborder routes will now enjoy complimentary premium snacks, beer, and wine.
The enhanced economy experience begins on June 5, 2024, and is available on all eligible routes through to the end of 2024.
If you’re flying with Air Canada in economy this summer, be sure to check out the new options onboard and raise a glass to your elevated travels.
