From must-have gadgets to those little lifesavers you didn’t even know you needed, we’ve got you covered. So grab your Minnie ears, and let’s dive into the magical art of packing for Disney like a pro!
Disney Packing List
Packing for a trip to Disney is a little different than packing for a family trip somewhere else. We should know, we’ve been at least 60 times. Yes, we are those people. Your welcome.
Magic Bands – MagicBands are an awesome tool for all things Disney. If you are staying on Disney property they will mail them to you ahead of time so don’t forget them!
Mickey Ears – You can get the traditional ears or you can just get the headband ears. Etsy has so many amazing Mickey Ears.

Disney Pins for trading – if you want to participate in pin trading I recommend ordering some inexpensive Disney pins on Amazon ! before you go. Paying a dollar or less for a pin is much cheaper than buying them in the parks. Not sure if you want to trade pins? Check out our Disney Pin Trading Tutorial .
Mister fan or Handheld travel fan
Autograph books
Pen for signatures
External battery
Band-aids
Tylenol or asprin
Hats
Disney hair bows
Disney jewelry
Light backpack – This is to take what you need into the parks with you. You can see what I put in my backpack here:  Disney Backpack Expert Packing Tips.

Reusable water bottle – you will save so much money in the park if you have a reusable water bottle. Also, take drink mixes because the water in the Magic Kingdom doesn’t taste good.

Buy: Feels Like Home Shirt

Click to shop: Chillin like a Villain shirts
Disney shirts  – I highly recommend getting matching Disney shirts . They are fun and it makes it easier to spot your family in the crowded parks.
One pair of jeans – Orlando is hot pretty much all the time, so you will only need one pair of jeans at the most.
Rain jacket or poncho – It may rain, it may not. But if it starts raining you will get to pay top dollar for a poncho inside the parks. If it does rain make sure to read this post:  22 Things to do at Disney World On A Rainy Day.
Umbrella
Flip flops or slides – At some point, you will be spending time at the pool, so make sure to have some shoes you do not mind getting wet like flip flops.
Bathing suit – You will want to cool down at the hotel pool or at one of the waterparks in Orlando like Typhoon Lagoon , Blizzard Beach , Volcano Bay, or  Aquatica Orlando Water Park .
Swimsuit cover up
SPF shirt
Water shoes
Beach bag
Inflatable life jacket
Sunscreen  – get the sport cause you will be sweating a lot.
Chapstick with sunscreen in it
Tennis shoes – You are going to be walking miles each day and will need comfortable support shoes.
1 or 2 nice outfits – If you decide to go out for a more upscale meal at a restaurant like California Grill or Flying Fish you will need something a bit nicer to wear than what you wear into the parks. They are not strict on this, but a collared shirt or a dress would be best.

Clever Items to Pack for Disney
I pack some of the most random stuff when we go to Disney World each year. But there’s a good reason for all of them.
Hair Glitter
Colored Hair Spray
Outfits for Disney
Costumes – My kids liked to dress up sometimes for the park. Buying a costume inside the park is extremely expensive. If you are doing the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney World and don’t already have a costume you are going to spend at least $75 on one.

Get Travel Insuranc e

Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that can go wrong on any trip. Be prepared for the worst with travel insurance. We use Travelex or Safety Wing (often cheaper).

Book Flight s

I use Skyscanner to find flights. I use it so much, I wrote an entire guide to finding cheap flights with Skyscanner !

Book a Place to Stay

I recommend using Expedia.com or Hotels.com for most hotel bookings. I prefer to book directly with Marriott when I stay there because of their excellent military discount.

If you prefer staying in a vacation rental instead, I recommend VRBO .

Rent Clothes

Rent clothes for your trip with Travel Style Expert for only $50 a month! The first 30 days are free!

Choose Activities and Tours

To find great activities in any area I use Get Your Guide and Viator . If we are visiting a city with lots of popular attractions I always check CityPass and GoCard to see if they have discount cards available. Groupon also tends to have a lot of local travel deals.

When I want to book a full-on multi-day tour I use TourRadar . They’ve got fantastic weekly deals. If I am going somewhere in Mexico or the Caribbean I use Apple Vacations .

Rent a Car or Take a Lyft

More often than not Lyft is cheaper than Uber. Use my Lyft link for an $18 credit ! For a car rental in any country, I recommend Hertz or Discover Cars .

Save Money on Gas

Upside , a free app gets you cash back on gas! Use promo code RV2Q2 to get an extra 15¢/gal bonus on your first purchase .

Get a Visa

I use iVisa to get all of my Visas.
