A man stole an American Airlines bus from John F. Kennedy International Airport early Wednesday morning and led police on a 15-mile (24-kilometer) chase.
The police identified 43-year-old Burshawn Quildon as the individual who drove the bus across multiple boroughs within the borders of New York City.
The incident took place just before 2 a.m. Wednesday local time, when Quildon reportedly jumped into a bus that had been left running in parking lot 12, which is reserved for airline employees.
An airport employee followed the bus and reported the incident to authorities.
Police said that Quildon drove the bus onto the Van Wyck Expressway and the Grand Central Parkway in Queens, the FDR Drive in Manhattan, and across the Brooklyn Bridge, where they were finally able to pull the driver over on Cadman Plaza West.
Quildon is charged with grand larceny of an auto and criminal possession of stolen property. His previous arrests include one for robbery, marijuana possession, assault, and transit fraud.
