2 Workers Dead After Construction Accident at JFK Airport

Two workers are dead after a collapse of a trench at a construction site at the generating plant at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.
The accident took place Monday morning around 11:25 a.m. EDT.
Firefighters and emergency medical personnel from the New York Fire Department were on the scene and several firefighters were in a trench trying to rescue the two injured construction workers.
Both were eventually pulled out and transported to hospital.
The two workers, however, were pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a local hospital.  No further information was provided concerning the workers, pending notification of next of kin.
