More Baby Yoda Travel Gear for Season 2 of The Mandalorian
Although technically “born” in 2019, it’s safe to say that Baby Yoda is the best thing to happen to 2020. Watching Season 2 of The Mandalorian on Disney+ is just one of the things helping families cope with lying low during the COVID-19 pandemic.
But, once again, I find my travel mom anxiety skyrocketing watching Mando fumble about with Baby Yoda in tow. He’s flying through space with a toddler who is not properly strapped into a travel car seat and The Child is snoozing in a hammock instead of a proper toddler travel bed .
Our first post about Baby Yoda offered travel gear suggestions based on Season 1 of The Mandalorian . Season 2 has shown us that Mando is more comfortable carting about The Child but his new adventures highlight new requirements that would make their lives much easier. Not to mention safer!
This post contains spoilers for Season 2 of The Mandalorian . But I don’t think it’s spoiling to say that, gear aside, Mando needs to keep a tighter hold on his mischievious charge!

Baby Yoda Travel Gear: Baby Carriers
Mando has his hands full with Baby Yoda–literally and figuratively! He’s obviously figured out that babywearing is one of the easiest, hands-free ways to tote a baby or toddler around. We’re not sure that his current method is best for even weight distribution and support. These options might be more comfortable for both The Mandalorian AND The Child.

The Sweety Fox Multi-Position Baby Carrier offers excellent value in a carrier that will take you (and The Mandalorian) from infancy to toddlerhood. It can be used front-facing, rear-facing, as a backpack carry, and the detachable hip seat can be used on its own. It comes with a removeable sun cover, a foldable head rest, and an attached pouch to keep your phone and other necessities handy.
The grey would match Mando’s armour nicely, but the blue is also a great neutral colour for inter-galactic travel. The cotton fabric is durable and washable and the carrier is good for children up to 15kg/33lbs.

The New Zealand brand phil&teds has long been known for excellent baby travel gear. Their travel crib was one of the first and best on the market, and they always offer excellent quality and style.
To be honest, we aren’t sure about a true backpack carrier for Mando, seeing as it may interfere with his flamethrower and other various weapons. However, we couldn’t resist the orange and dark grey colour scheme of phil&teds Parade Child Carrier Frame Backpack . The lower profile might work with Mando’s arsenal, and it comes with a detachable minipack for Baby Yoda to wear on his own.

Baby Yoda Travel Gear: Bicycle Seats & Trailers
Baby Yoda didn’t seem to mind, but riding in a saddlebag on a speeder bike is definitely not the safest way for Mando to transport a toddler. A bike trailer definitely wouldn’t work here though, but there are a number of new bike seats that could surely be modified to work with a speeder bike and would keep Baby Yoda much safer.

Because of how unpredictable and mischievious Baby Yoda is, he seems markedly safer riding in the front position. The “bumper” acts like handlebars for the speeder bike/bicycle passenger, and is removeable for once they get the hang os two-wheeled (or floaty) transport.
The WeeRide Kangaroo Child Bike Seat can be a finiky install. However most reviewers rave about it if it does install properly on their bike.

Baby Yoda Travel Gear: Baby & Toddler Life Jackets
The very first thing I said watching Season 2 Episode 3 is, “That baby should be wearing a life jacket!” I am trying my darndest not to be a Karen in my old age but certain safety standards need to be upheld. Especially on a boat!
Mando and Baby Yoda are lucky that “the egg” saved the day (and floats, who knew?) but for the long run this is not a safe approach for traveling by sea. Baby Yoda needs to be in a life jacket or some other form of floatation device when near water, and all parents learn that you should never be further away than arm’s length from your child when near water.

And the bright orange colour will ensure he is visible if you need to retrieve him from a scary sea monster’s grasp.

Baby Yoda Travel Gear: Eating Gear & Toddler-Friendly Travel Snacks
I am 100 per cent convinced that Baby Yoda’s behaviour would vastly improve with a consistent and nutritious eating regimen. Certainly baby frogs and bowls of chowder should be hearty enough for a growing Yoda’s needs. But healthy snacks would keep Baby Yoda’s blood sugar from crashing which can cause erratic behavious.
Nutritious Baby Yoda cookies or even perhaps a Baby Yoda drink that’s fortified with nutrients would be great for Mando to keep on hand. Even he seems to understand that Baby Yoda is frequently hungry but let’s steer clear from Frog Lady’s babies and giant spider eggs, please!

Baby Yoda Travel Gear: Travel Toys for Toddlers
As we recover from the Baby Yoda frog “incident,” I’m sure we can all agree that The Child needs a few age-appropriate toys or playthings that will keep him engaged for a few precious minutes while Mando’s attention is elsewhere. Fun travel toys for toddlers are an absolute must if a parent is going to maintain any shred of sanity. Especially for indefinite space travel!

I am old enough to remember life before tablet computers and, let me tell you, it wasn’t pretty. Our carry-on bags were hella heavy, filled with books and even a portable dvd player and discs if you can believe it!
Once tablets were invented, we did not pass go and did not collect $200. We took that $200 and put it towards an actual iPad for our kid. Renewed iPads can offer good savings. Limit screen time as much as you need to at home. While traveling? All bets are off and don’t feel a bit guilty for it. There are lots of cute “kiddy” tablets out there but your toddler will want yours anyway. Age-appropriate shows and games will keep even Baby Yoda-level busy toddlers engaged for a few minutes at least.

Seriously, Mando’s always tinkering and fixing up his ride. If he set the VTech Learn and Turn up in the cockpit you just know Baby Yoda would enjoy pretending he was also captain of the ship.
There’s animal, driving, and music mode with a traffic light, a signal lever that triggers fun sounds and music, plus a gear shifter that pushes and pulls to introduce opposites. Who knows? Maybe Baby Yoda would do a better job escaping X-Wing fighters and various other pesky spaceships.
