Singapore Airlines has just released its latest KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes promotion for discounted award bookings on select Singapore Airlines flights worldwide. Book using KrisFlyer miles until April 30, 2023 to score a 30% discount on select flights for May 1–31, 2023.
This time around, there are deals in economy, premium economy, and business class to a number of destinations throughout its network, including North America. 
What Are KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes?
KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes are promotional discounts on Singapore Airlines flights that offer reduced KrisFlyer redemptions select routes. The class of service and destinations available through the promotion differ each time, and are subject to a number of conditions.
Spontaneous Escapes must be booked in a specified period of time, and are eligible for a limited period of travel. This time, you have until April 30, 2023  to book, and from May 1–31, 2023 to travel, with some blackout dates.

Spontaneous Escapes are only valid for redemptions on Singapore Airlines flights booked through singaporeair.com, and aren’t available through the app. Furthermore, the discounts aren’t applicable to Singapore Airlines flights through other loyalty programs, such as Aeroplan , or with codeshare flights through KrisFlyer. 
There are a limited number of seats available with the promotional pricing, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 
Spontaneous Escapes cannot be changed or cancelled once booked, so you’ll want to be sure that you’re able to travel on the ticket once it’s confirmed. 
Lastly, Spontaneous Escapes are valid on one-way and round-trip bookings; however, no stopovers are permitted, and waitlist redemptions aren’t allowed.

KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes for May 2023
There is a large number of Spontaneous Escapes deals available this month, including a 30% discount on KrisFlyer redemptions in economy, premium economy, and business class to destinations in South East Asia, North Asia, West Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.
The full list of destinations can be found on the KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes website . In many cases, the deals are linked to specific flight numbers or are subject to blackout dates, so you’ll want to give the list a close read if you’re planning on taking advantage of the promotion.
Of particular interest is the fifth freedom flight between Frankfurt and New York (JFK), which is available in business class for just 56,700 KrisFlyer miles, or  36,400 miles in premium economy.

Other North American destinations include Singapore to Los Angeles for just 29,400 KrisFlyer miles in economy. Also available is the rather novel fifth freedom route from Manchester to Houston, redeemable for 17,500 KrisFlyer miles in economy.
But if you’d rather fly in Premium Economy, you can book Tokyo Narita to Los Angeles, another fifth freedom route, for 51,500 KrisFlyer miles or Singapore to San Francisco for 52,500 KrisFlyer miles .

Looking to other parts of the world, you can snag business class seats from Singapore to sought-after destinations in Australia and New Zealand. For only 47,950 KrisFlyer miles , you can fly to Sydney, Melbourne, or Christchurch.

There’s no registration required for this promotion, and you simply complete an award booking through the Singapore Airlines website as you usually would. Just sign in to your account, and make sure to select “Redeem miles” before you begin your search.
You’ll need to keep an eye out for flights that price out according to the Spontaneous Escapes charts, as there is limited availability with the 30% discount. They’re pretty easy to spot, though, as the word “Promo” is clearly displayed in the results.

How to Earn Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles
In Canada, HSBC Rewards is the sole transfer partner to KrisFlyer , with a 25:9 ratio. 
In other words, you’ll get 9,000 KrisFlyer miles for every 25,000 HSBC Rewards you transfer. Points must be transferred in increments of 10,000 after the first 25,000.
For example, if you’d like to try out the fifth freedom flight between Frankfurt and New York (JFK), you’ll need to transfer 165,000 HSBC Rewards to equal 59,400 Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles.
