12 Chicago Date Night Ideas

When you get a night away from the kids, a date night is essential. Dating doesn’t have to be going out to dinner every time. There are so many unique and fun date night ideas in Chicago. When they get boring, it is time to spice things up and say goodbye to the classic dinner dates.
Here are 12 date night ideas in Chicago.
1. Take a Mixology Class
Dates are better when they are interactive and memorable. A mixology class has both of these qualities. Instead of being in front of the bar, you can play bartender with your partner for the night. You and your partner can learn how to make the most delicious drinks and take the knowledge home when you want to stay home for a few drinks.
Once you are finished learning, you can relax and enjoy your creations.
2. Discover a Museum
Chicago has many museums, like the Art Institute and the Shedd Aquarium. These are both fantastic museums that people love to explore in the city. Aside from the classics, there are many other beautiful places to check out. Finding a new museum is an excellent opportunity to make unforgettable memories with your partner.
A great option is the Richard H. Driehaus Gallery of Stained Glass which has stained glass wonders from local institutions and the best part is that it is free. If that doesn’t spark your interest, the city offers many options. If you like literature, The American Writers Museum is perfect or you can visit the oldest home in Chicago if it sounds exciting.
3. Kayak in Lake Michigan or the Chicago River
If you and your partner prefer something active, kayaking is a great option. You can tour either body of water and have a romantic moment watching the sunset over the water. If you want to take the experience to the next level, you can do a Happy Hour paddle, including a stop at the Island Party Hut for a complimentary beer after the hard work you did paddling.

The first playground was established in Chicago in 1876 , so it is only right to indulge in a bit of fun, for historical reasons of course!
5. Do a Candle Making Class
After you put the kids to sleep and just want to relax, setting the tone by lighting a candle is the first step. Instead of buying a new candle, you and your partner can create your own to make it a unique experience. You can choose from various colors, scents and add-ins like crystals or glitter to make it your own.
