Disney On Ice Returns to Newcastle in December 2023

This is an advert for May 2023. Any shares / edits beyond this point have not been asked for. This post is based on an official press release but please note, I do not work for Feld Entertainment and will be unable to help with ticket queries.  It's time for my favourite announcement of the year.......  Disney On Ice presents 100 Years of Wonder  Key information:  Tickets go on pre-sale at 9am on Friday 19 May and general sale at 9am on Friday 26 May (the pre-sale sign up link is at the bottom of this post) The production will skate into Utilita Arena Newcastle from Wednesday 6th to Sunday 10th December 2023  This year's show is a big celebration of Disney's 100th Anniversary where Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy invite guests to relive magical Disney stories with all of your favourite characters, classic Disney songs and world-class skating  See Encanto on Ice for the First Time  The hugely popular Encanto features in the show for the very first time in the UK. Journey to the mountains of Colombia to meet Mirabel and her extraordinary family who live in a magical casito and a charmed place called Encanto  Who Else Will You See?  Sail away with Moana as she displays courage to save her island on a high-seas adventure with Maui  Travel to the wintry world of Arendelle as royal sisters Anna and Else discover true love is the most powerful magic of all  Experience the mysterious magic of Fantasia as a Sorcerer's Apprentice makes brooms come to life  Your favourite Disney Princesses will feature as they use perserverance, determination and hard work to inspire Mickey and children to share their favourite Disney memories  Just keep swimming with Dory, Nemo, Marlin and new pal Hank from Disney Pixar's Finding Dory  Celebrate trye friendship with Buzz Lightyear, Woody and the Toy Story gang  Plus of course Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy will be there to host this year's biggest celebration in Newcastle  My Favourite Disney Memories  As this year's show is all about celebrating 100 years of Disney, I thought I would be a little indulgent and share a few of my favourite Disney memories from over the years....... Watching the scenes from Frozen at Disney On Ice. It never gets old and is so magical! I love listening to the whole arena singing along to 'Let it Go' is just the best  Visiting the Disney Christmas Shop at Disney Springs in Orlando. This is the best shop I've ever been to! I still put the Disney Baubles I bought there on my tree every year  Watching any new Disney release at the cinema with the kids. As they're now older, it's more difficult finding things that we all like. Watching a Disney film together is still up there and we already have our tickets to this year's new live action release of The Little Mermaid  Dee and Jack were super lucky to be invited on the ice and feature in the show one year and have met some of the cast too. Very much perks of the job I'm in which I'm super grateful for. Memories I definitely treasure  Watching Ursula on ice during a previous Disney On Ice show. She's one of my favourites and was just brilliant Watching Tangled on loop with Dee when she was little and singing the 'Mother Knows Best' song and 'Flower, gleam and glow. Let your power shine. Make the clock reverse. Bring back what once was mine' whenever I brushed her hair When I was growing up, I was always renting A Little Mermaid or Sleeping Beauty from the video shop near us in the school holidays (I remember it was 50p) My brother being obsessed with Toy Story when we were growing up. I'm sure he had a Toy Story themed bedroom at one point  Watching Finding Nemo when I worked as a Dental Nurse and understanding all the 'in' jokes and terminology. It was a water cooler moment where I worked!  When I was poorly as an 18 year old, someone bought me a Sully (from Monster's Inc) soft toy and it's still one of my most treasured posessions What about you?  Sign Up for Pre-Sale Tickets Visit www.prioritycustomer.co.uk  and sign up. As soon as it's available, I will update this post.  General Sale & Accessible Tickets Tickets will then go on general sale to the public from 9am on 26 May 2023 via Utilita Arena. You can find out more about booking Accessible Tickets here.  Visiting Utilita Arena Newcastle & FAQs Disney On Ice takes place in the centre of the arena and uses the full floor space. I've sat in most areas to watch the show in the past and there isn't a bad seat At time of publishing, there are quite a few items which you aren't allowed to take into the arena - backpacks, glowsticks, signs/banners, refreshments/refreshment containers. See here for the full list and more info Disney fancy dress is encouraged for little ones - many where a costume with their winter coat over the top. It doesn't actually feel too chilly inside the arena. Adults are not permitted to dress up as a character but can wear things like character ears / T-shirts Start saving now for merch - last year's prices as a guide were £15 for a Mickey Mouse bucket of popcorn, £15 for Rainbow Slushies in a Disney Cup, £13 for Candy Floss with Mickey Ears, £30 for Flashing Wands,   Last year the arena ran a deal where you could buy a hot dog, crisps, chocolate bar and a drink for £5 from the main tills which was a good deal. Hopefully they will have something similar this year Places to eat nearby include Sachins, Mantra Thai, Central Oven & Shaker and Coop Chicken House. Last year the Lazy Bear Tipi outside Central Station was a popular option too  We always park in the official arena car park. There are 600 spaces, it's easy to get in and out of and currently costs £8.50 per event ( find out more here ). Public transport is also a good option with Central Station (for trains, Metro and buses) being a short walk from the arena   Why not plan to make a day of it? There isn't much info around at the moment but there will be lots of festive activities taking place in Newcastle alongside the show's run here Although the show takes place in December, in previous years, it has not been 'Christmas' themed  Timings for this year's show have not been released yet but it's usually 1 hour 45 minutes including an interval I would recommend for all ages and have personally taken my children from being toddlers. You know yourself whether your child will enjoy the show / is likely to sit through it. You will see all ages there though and it's nice and relaxed with kids shuffling about / climbing on parent's knees / dancing and singing at the top of their voices  It's time for my favourite announcement.......  Disney On Ice presents 100 Years of Wonder heads to Newcastle this December  Tickets go on pre-sale at 9am on Friday 19 May and general sale at 9am on Friday 26 May (the pre-sale sign up link is in the blog post) The production will skate into Utilita Arena Newcastle from Wednesday 6th to Sunday 10th December 2023  This year's show is a big celebration of Disney's 100th Anniversary where Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy invite guests to relive magical Disney stories with all of your favourite characters, classic Disney songs and world-class skating  The hugely popular Encanto features in the show for the very first time in the UK Sail away with Moana as she displays courage to save her island on a high-seas adventure with Maui  Travel to the wintry world of Arendelle as royal sisters Anna and Else discover true love is the most powerful magic of all  Experience the mysterious magic of Fantasia as a Sorcerer's Apprentice makes brooms come to life  Your favourite Disney Princesses will feature as they use perserverance, determination and hard work to inspire Mickey and children to share their favourite Disney memories  Just keep swimming with Dory, Nemo, Marlin and new pal Hank from Disney Pixar's Finding Dory  Celebrate trye friendship with Buzz Lightyear, Woody and the Toy Story gang  Find out more & sign up for pre-sale ticket access here: https://www.northeastfamilyfun.co.uk/2023/05/disney-on-ice-newcastle-2023.html (apologies there is no information on ticket prices at the moment - as soon as it's available, I will update this post).
